Christine & Alex | American Swedish Institute, Minneapolis MN

Getting to photograph a dear friends wedding is such an incredible gift. For Christine that meant a slow morning (complete with brunch with her 14 closest girlfriends) and time in the schedule for bridal portraits. It also meant being able to ask each parent what they needed and making 10min for mom to have alone time with her daughter, and to take some extra family formals for the grooms relatives. The freedom to be in relationship instead of just being in service to the couple, and given a pass to truly be invited into their story makes this work so deeply rewarding.

Plus a warm sunny June day in the courtyard of The American Swedish Institute and decor and florals by my favorite Sisterhoney Floral Co. truly set a beautiful tone for their day.

2015 Reflection

Spent a few hours gathering some of my favorite images from this last year.  From engagement sessions and crowns of flowers to 17 beautiful couples who brought me along to capture their wedding day.

I actually can not believe that this was my year!  From photographing two weddings the year before and falling in love with it.  Then telling myself YES lets try this for real.  I could never have imagined how it all would play out.  Mostly I am sincerely grateful for these beautiful people who put their trust in me to tell their stories.  Who opened up their arms and invited me in.  To the continued friendships of some awesome brides and grooms, girlfriends who fearlessly played along for photo dates, and weddings that brought me to cities I have never been.  Each of you hold a special place in my heart.

THANK YOU!!

Sabrina & Jefferson | Minnesota Wedding Photography

My friend Sabrina fell in love while teaching in Columbia.   On July 3rd her and Jefferson said "I Do" here in Minnesota.  Meeting all of the Columbian family that made the trip and capturing the melding of their two cultures was such a joy.  They so beautifully tied in bits and pieces of each of them from the invites, to the wedding readings being done in both English and Spanish, to ending the night with a whole lot of Salsa dancing!  I am still swooning over ALL these images and could not feel more blessed to have been able to photograph their wedding day.
