PHOTOGRAPHER FAMILY CAMP
Workshop and Retreat with the creative caregiver in mind
“An absolute game changer. I figured I wouldn’t be able to attend a workshop for a very long time due to not being able to bring my little(s) with me. It was not only super practical, but also really special for me to bring my husband into the creative space so he could get a glimpse of what my creative world is like.”
“It really just gave me an invitation to sit with my own story longer and with more intention. Ask myself more questions about how my own narrative is contributing to what I document and how I see the world, and how I WANT to blend those pieces together.”
“It was truly one of the best workshop experiences and I am glad I got to share in it with my family! A memory to be cherished for years to come with new friendships made!”

THE COURSE
“The Family Narrative” is a workshop for anyone working in family photography, but it was designed for the ARTIST CAREGIVER. The focus is a shift in your own personal photography from documentary to conceptual work and how that expands into client work. It offers the space to be in community, get inspired by artists making work within the framework of family photography, and reflect on the folklore and visual history that weave through your own stories.
Dismissing the isolated artist myth, we will use the domestic sphere as the rich creative ground for your own personal projects and collaborations with your family members which can outstretched wherever photography brings you.
-
Reflections on your own family lore and personal project exploration
-
Discussions on the Subject/Photographer relationship and how caregiving has shaped your practice
-
Exploring other artists creating works based in the domestic sphere of family

Note, the definition of family is expansive, whatever your support community looks like is welcome and included!
