Iron Vein

β€œthe women always leave.”

In opposition of the family folklore, this project is a return. Focused on the rural mining region of Northern Minnesota that had backdropped my childhood and adolescence, and with subjects including both family and strangers, photography is my portal and reintroduction to the Iron range community. This series, driven by personal memory and the lasting imprint of this ever shifting midwest landscape, is the tender witnessing of place and the women, children, and caregivers who have stayed.
