Felicia & Nate || Surly Brewery Wedding

When I met with Felicia & Nate there was simply a spark of connection.  They wanted a wedding day with non-traditional simplicity, and that spoke right to the heart of what I love, weddings that focus on people.  The most important aspect for them was a venue that created a fun environment for their communities to gather, and what better choice then a brewery! The beers flowing, good food, music and conversation shared.  It was a wonderfully refreshing energy for a wedding day, and really allowed for space for everyone to truly be present with this wonderful couple.  A perfect fit!  (Also I am pretty positive they had the cutest flower girl of all time.)

Karisa & Jason || Columbia River Gorge Wedding

I have been pouring love into their day starting way back with save the date and invite designs, helping dream up centerpieces and decor, chalkboards and florals.  I got to help so much in the process, I really couldn't imagine not being able to photograph it.  But knowing that it would be a busy day as sister of the bride, I knew I couldn't do it on my own.  I am so thankful for Gabe Photography for also making the trip out west so that he could collaborate along with me.  This really was a team effort.  While he captured all the quick moving, big pieces of the day (the putting on of the dress, all the formals, and the incredibly breathtaking ceremony images) he generously gave me space to capture the quieter moments.  Their first look and a mountain view sneak away after they said I do.  For that, and his friendship, I am so filled with gratitude.

Karisa and Jason's day was perfect.  A chance for two families from different states to cozy in and get to know each other in a little mountain lodge. It showcased the adventurous spirit both of them share as well as the love they pour into their community.  From the intimate ceremony in the woods, to dancing the night away with people who traveled from all over,  I struggle to come up with the words so I will let these photos tell the story.

Honeymooning | Pacific Northwest Road Trip

Vacation basically looks like me spinning around in nature with a giant smile on my face, driving too fast on winding roads, picking up hitch-hikers, choosing sketchy motels, and Rich basically being terrified most of the time.  Is it weird that I joked about it being his "Honeymoon of Horrors"?  Not sure he would of planned a trip consisting of most of his deepest fears (you know the risk of getting random hotel diseases, getting murdered, falling off a cliff) but I would like to think he loves me more for it.  :)  I certainly love him for showing curiosity in my passion for photography and capturing me in all that spinning smiling gleefulness.

P.S.  He is getting crazy good!  I think I have a second shooter in the making....
